Blackhem has always been involved in regional merchandising and trading activities since 2001.
Our business spans more than 10 countries with various products from Bitumen, Polymer Modified Bitumen and Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO). The company also trade and distribute Rubber Process Oil (RPO) and Base Oil around the ASEAN region.
Bitumen.
Bitumen is a binding organic material made from the by-products of refined crude oil. It is used in road construction because it is easy to produce, reusable, non-toxic, and a strong binder. Our bitumen is of the highest quality with different grades derived from different Penetration, Viscosity, and other chemical compositions.
Produced using vacuum distillation (VB) from reputable refineries across the regions, we offer the highest quality industry standards and grading with Penetration 40/50, Penetration 60/70 and 80/100, well suited as raw material for the construction of roads, pipe coatings and water proofing material.
Polymer Modified Bitumen.
Blackhem has ventured into the production of higher valued added bituminous products under our own registered brand, DOROtech®.
As a niche product made from polymer modified bitumen, DOROtech® provides for higher quality surfacing, better performance, lower maintenance and is more durable.
DOROtech® has been proven for its excellent performance and is highly suitable for roads, highways, airport runways and racetracks.

Marine Low Sulphur Fuel Oil/Bunkering.
Blackhem has established a new product line in the supply of Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) which follows the International Maritime Organisation’s (IMO) ruling on lower sulphur emissions from January 1, 2020.
Under IMO’s ruling, the marine sector will switch to lower sulphur fuels to reduce sulphur emissions in international waters by 80%.
Through IMO’s 2020 regulation, the maximum fuel oil sulphur limit will fall to below 0.5 wt%. This will constitute the largest reduction in the sulphur content of transportation fuel undertaken.
The marine sector, which consumed 3.8 million barrels per day of fuel oil in 2017, is credited with half of global fuel oil demand.
Blackhem has invested 4 bunker ships and 35,000mt of storage capacity at Port Klang and has acquired licenses to conduct VLSFO bunkering in several ports of Malaysia,
Rubber Processing Oil.
Blackhem, a pioneer in Rubber Processing Oil (RPO) supplies different grades of RPO to different industry segments, specifically for the manufacturing of various rubber products.
RPO is mixtures of paraffinic, naphthenic, and aromatic compounds of wide distribution of molecular weight. It is used in the rubber industry to enhance the process ability of rubbers and rubber compounds and increase the bulk of rubber to lower the cost. A selection of mixed grade RPO generating from Naphthenic, Aromatic and Paraffinic oils, is readily available.
Base Oil.
Base oils are raw material for lubricants. It is one of the specialty products that can be produced by a refinery. Base oil are blend stocks used to formulate a variety of lubricating oils for use in engines and other machinery.
Base oils are produced by extracting and treating high-viscosity material from narrow distillation cuts of vacuum gasoil or vacuum residue.
Blackhem terminal in Port Klang currently store and distribute several common grade of base oil for Malaysia lubricants consumers.
